3-step protocol

UV gel false nail application protocol with French (3 steps)

Step 1: Nail Preparation

This step is essential to ensure the capsules and UV gel hold properly.

Before any manicure, nails and hands must be clean, disinfected and dry. You must also remove all traces of varnish.

1a. Sanitize your hands and push back the cuticles. Using the cuticle pusher stick, gently push the cuticles towards the skin to enlarge the nail bed.

Tips: Small dead skins on the surface of the nail must be removed. Otherwise the gel cannot adhere properly to an oily surface such as the skin.

1b. Using the buffer block, gently file until the natural shine of the nail disappears.

Tips: Do not file excessively to avoid damaging the nail.

1c. Dust nails with a manicure brush or makeup brush (eg: clean blush brush).

1d. Degrease the nails with cellulose cotton soaked in cleaner.

Step 2: Installing the capsules

This step is optional if you do not want to extend your natural nails or if you are using templates.

2a. Choose capsules that fit the size of your natural nails.

Tips: If none of the sizes fit your nails, choose a larger cap and file it to fit your nail. If the cap is too small, it will not fit.

2b. Put glue on the notch of the capsule, then stick the capsule on the tip of your natural nail, maintaining pressure for 7 seconds.

Tips: There should be no bubbles between the natural nail and the tip. If there are, or if the tip is poorly stuck, use a tip remover to remove it and start the application again.

2c. Cut the capsule to the desired length with the guillotine pliers.

2d. File the demarcation with the 180/100 banana file so that it blends in with the natural nail.

Tips: Avoid filing the natural nail. This step is essential to remove the demarcation between the nail and the capsule, and to no longer see the capsule once the gel is applied.

2nd. Correct any imperfections caused by filing using the polishing block.

2f. Dust nails with a manicure brush or makeup brush (eg: clean blush brush).

Step 3: Application of the Base UV/LED Gel

3a. Using a brush with a small amount of base gel, apply a thin layer of gel like a polish over the entire surface of the nail (including the capsule).

Tips: For perfect adhesion of the gel, it is necessary to apply it well on the entire surface of the nail (capsule included) and in particular on the sides. Be careful, the Gel must not overflow onto the skin. If this is the case, remove it using a stick or a brush. Tips: Apply the gel by pressing the brush against the nail as if you wanted to make the gel penetrate.

3b. Catalyze (Dry the gel) 2 minutes under the UV lamp or 60 seconds under the LED lamp (if LED gel)

Tips: This layer of gel is very thin, you can apply it to all the nails of the same hand before passing it under the UV or LED lamp. Tips: If there is a layer of gel that has not hardened and is sticky, this is completely normal. Continue your application without removing it.

Step 4: Application of UV/LED Camouflage Gel (Optional if applying colored gel)

4a. Apply a layer of camouflage gel over the entire surface of the nail.

4b. Catalyze (dry the gel) for 2 minutes under the UV lamp or 60 seconds under the LED lamp (if LED gel). If necessary, apply a second layer of camouflage UV gel.

Tips: You can catalyze each nail, between each application, a few seconds under the lamp to fix the Gel. Once the entire hand is done, catalyze 2 minutes under the UV lamp or 60 seconds under LED (if LED gel)

For your application to last, ABOVE ALL do not degrease or touch the sticky gel film that has not hardened.

Step 5: Applying the French Manicure (Optional if applying colored gel)

5a. Apply the white French Gel to the edge of the nail in the shape you want using the brush.

Tips: To prevent the gel from running, cure each nail for 5 seconds.

5b. After having done all the fingers, pass the hand for 2 minutes under the UV lamp or 60 seconds under LED (if LED gel)

Step 6: Installation of the UV / LED Construction Gel

6a. Put a generous amount of Builder Gel on the brush. Apply the Gel to the entire nail surface which will become smooth after a few seconds as it is a self-leveling Gel.

Tips: The gel should be applied to the middle of the nail, from the cuticles (without touching them) to the end of the nail. Place the brush on the top of the nail (cuticle side), spread the gel to the right, stopping just before the skin, then go down to the end of the nail. Do the same on the other side.

Tips: The brush should not press the gel but only slide without pressure on its surface. To do this, keep the brush parallel to the nail.

The bulge

You need to create the nail's curve, meaning that the stress area (where the capsule is glued) will have a thicker layer of gel. This will create the curve.

6b. Place a small ball of gel on the brush and then place it on the spot chosen to be the top of the curve.

6c. Wait a few seconds for the gel ball to collapse.

6d. Check the appearance of the nail. When the gel forms a curve and no longer a ball, place your hand in front of the lamp for 15 seconds, then 10 seconds under the lamp (20 seconds for the thumbs).

6th. Repeat these 3 steps on each finger.

6f. Catalyze for 2 minutes under the UV lamp or 60 seconds under LED (if LED gel)

Tips: The gel should not touch the skin. If gel gets on the skin, use the rosewood stick to remove it. There should be a thin layer of gel left that has not hardened.

6g. Degrease (remove the layer of gel that has not hardened) with a cellulose cotton soaked in cleaner.

6h. File with a 180 file to smooth the gel and remove all the bumps. This step allows you to shape the nail and remove all these irregularities.

6i. Use the buffer block to remove rough spots and ridges from filing, only on the front and side of the nails.

6d. Dust with a manicure brush.

Step 7: Applying Colored Gel (If applying colored gel instead of a French manicure)

7a. Apply a first thin layer of colored gel then catalyze for 2 minutes under the UV lamp or 60 seconds under LED (if LED gel). Do not degrease the sticky layer.

7b. Apply a second thin layer of colored gel then catalyze for 2 minutes under the UV lamp or 60 seconds under LED (if LED gel). Do not degrease the sticky layer.

Step 8: Applying the UV/LED Finishing Gel

8a. Apply the Finishing Gel in a thin layer using the brush and wait until the surface is completely smooth. Tips: Do not press the brush but let it slide without pressure on the surface of the nail. The layer should be thin but smooth.

8b. Place your finger in front of the lamp for 5 seconds, then under the lamp for 15 seconds.

8c. Repeat these 2 steps on each finger.

8d. Place your hand in front of the lamp for 5 seconds, then 2 minutes under the UV lamp or 60 seconds under LED (if LED Gel)

8th. Wipe the nail with a cellulose cotton pad soaked in cleaner.

8f. For a more glossy finish, you can apply a thin layer of UV Top Coat that you will catalyze for 2 minutes under the UV lamp or 60 seconds under LED (if LED gel). Do not degrease with cleaner.

8g. Clean your hands.

Tips: For a perfect finish, apply a little nourishing cuticle oil to the contours of the nail and gently massage the cuticles with circular movements.

Caution: Do not leave opened Gel pots or brushes under UV/LED lamps or sunlight, as this will render them unusable.
